What Thervu is

Thervu is a place to practise for a government exam the way you will sit it: against the clock, on the exam’s own syllabus, in the language you think in. Every question is written in both Tamil and English, and you can switch language in the middle of a test.

Thervu covers TNPSC, TN Police, Railway and Bank exams today, each with its own question bank mapped to the exam’s syllabus. More exams are added as their banks are written.

Exams with a full question bank today

  • TNPSC Group 412k+ questions
  • TN Police Sub-Inspector10k+ questions
  • RRB Group D6,000+ questions
  • RRB NTPC4,900+ questions
  • TN Police Constable4,100+ questions
  • SBI Clerk / SBI PO4,100+ questions

It works in any web browser, and an Android app is coming soon. The free plan includes daily mock tests; paid plans add topic and difficulty choice, full analysis and more.

Why it exists

Practice only helps if it is honest about two things: what the real exam will feel like, and what you should study next.

  • Practice that feels like the exam. Tests are timed, drawn from the exam’s syllabus, and submitted automatically when time runs out, so you are used to the pace before the day itself.
  • Marking that tells you what to study next. When you submit, every answer is marked and your score is broken down by subject and topic. Topics where you keep losing marks are flagged as weak areas, and questions you got wrong come back in your revision queue, spaced out so they stick.

How the question bank is written and checked

A full syllabus needs thousands of questions in two languages. This is how we write them, and how they get corrected.

  1. Mapped to the syllabus. Every question belongs to a subject and topic taken from the exam’s published syllabus, so your results can be broken down the same way.
  2. Written by subject teachers. Eight subject teachers write the questions from the Samacheer Kalvi and NCERT textbooks, in the pattern of past papers. Every question is in both Tamil and English, with a short explanation of the answer.
  3. Checked before they go in. Automated checks reject a question if its Tamil is missing or in the wrong script, its four options are not all different, its explanation is missing, or its maths is badly formatted. Exact repeats of questions already in the bank are skipped, and close matches are flagged for a person to look at.
  4. Current affairs, answered twice. Daily current-affairs questions are written from that day’s news, and a second AI model answers each one independently. If the two disagree, the question is dropped. Current-affairs questions are retired after about eighteen months, once they are unlikely to be asked.
  5. Corrected when you report them. Every question has a report button, inside the test and on your results. Reports go to a review queue, where our team checks the question and corrects it in both languages, or withdraws it from future tests.

If you spot a mistake, please report it. That is how the bank gets better.

Thervu is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to TNPSC, TNUSRB, RRB or the Government of Tamil Nadu. Exam names are used only to describe what our practice material covers, and our questions are practice material, not official or leaked papers.
