Refund and cancellation policy

Paid Thervu plans are autopay subscriptions, paid through PhonePe on our website or through Razorpay in the Android app. This page explains how to stop the next renewal, when a payment is refunded, how to ask for a refund and how long it takes.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers Thervu subscriptions bought on our website (paid through PhonePe) or in the Android app (paid through Razorpay): Pro (₹149 a month or ₹1,499 a year) and Premium (₹299 a month or ₹3,000 a year). The free plan involves no payment, so there is nothing to refund. If you used a coupon, any refund is of the amount you actually paid.

If we ever sell plans through Google Play billing, those purchases will also be subject to Google Play’s refund process.

2. How autopay works

When you subscribe, you set up an autopay mandate through PhonePe (website) or Razorpay (Android app), such as UPI AutoPay, a card standing instruction or an e-mandate. The first period is charged when you subscribe. Your plan then renews automatically at the start of each billing period, every month or every year, until you cancel. You are notified at least 24 hours before each renewal debit, by PhonePe, your bank or your UPI app.

3. Cancelling a subscription

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your paid features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Your test history, notes and favourites are kept.

To cancel, do either of these:

  • Email support@thervu.in with your registered phone number and the word “Cancel” in the subject. We confirm the cancellation by email.
  • Cancel the autopay mandate in the PhonePe app or your UPI app (under AutoPay or Mandates), in your card’s standing-instruction settings or with your bank. If you do this, please tell us too, so we can close the subscription on our side.

Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future payments; it does not return money you have already paid.

4. Yearly plans: 7-day refund window

If this is your first yearly purchase of a Thervu plan, you can ask for a full refund within 7 calendar days of the payment date, for any reason.

The window runs from the time of the payment, not from the day you first signed in. Once the refund is processed, the subscription ends immediately and your account moves to the free plan.

The 7-day window applies once per account. It does not apply to a yearly renewal, or to another yearly purchase after an earlier one was refunded.

5. Monthly plans and renewals

Monthly subscriptions are not refundable, including the first month. The free plan exists so you can try Thervu before paying.

Renewal payments are not refundable on monthly or yearly plans. Your bank or UPI app notifies you before an autopay renewal, and you can cancel any time before the renewal date to stop the charge. Forgetting to cancel is not, by itself, a reason for a refund, but see section 7.

6. How to ask for a refund

Email support@thervu.in with the subject “Refund request” and include:

  1. The phone number registered with your Thervu account. We cannot find a payment without it.
  2. The plan you bought (Pro or Premium, monthly or yearly).
  3. The date and amount of the payment.
  4. The payment reference from your receipt: the PhonePe transaction ID for website payments, or the Razorpay payment ID (it starts with “pay_”) for payments in the Android app.
  5. If you like, why it did not work out for you. It helps us improve.

We may send an OTP to your registered number to confirm that the request comes from the account holder. We reply to every refund request within 2 working days and tell you whether it is approved.

7. When we refund outside these windows

We refund in full, without argument, if:

  • You were charged twice for the same period.
  • You were charged after we had confirmed your cancellation.
  • A payment succeeded but the plan was never activated on your account.
  • Thervu was unavailable for a long period during your billing cycle because of a fault on our side. In that case we refund a proportionate amount or extend your plan, whichever you prefer.

8. When we may decline a refund

  • The request falls outside the windows described above.
  • The account breached our terms of service, for example by scraping, account sharing or manipulating the leaderboard.
  • The 7-day yearly refund has already been used on the account.
  • The payment is already the subject of a bank chargeback or payment dispute. In that case the outcome is decided through that process.

If we decline, we will tell you why. If you disagree, reply on the same email thread and someone else will review it.

9. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are issued through the same payment gateway, PhonePe or Razorpay, to the original payment method: the same card, UPI ID or bank account used for the purchase. We cannot send a refund to a different account, and we do not give cash, wallet credit or vouchers instead.

Once a refund is approved, we start it within 2 business days. It usually reaches you 5–7 business days after that, depending on your bank or UPI provider.

10. Failed payments

If an autopay debit fails, no money leaves your account and there is nothing to refund. the payment gateway may retry it. If it keeps failing, the subscription stops and your account moves to the free plan at the end of the paid period. Your test history and favourites are not deleted.

If your bank shows a debit but Thervu shows no active plan, it is usually a settlement delay of 24 to 48 hours. If it has been longer, email us with the payment reference and we will sort it out.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. The policy that applies to a payment is the one published on the date of that payment.
