1. Agreement to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Thervu (“we”, “us”), which is operated by Blubab Media Group, 3/160, South Street, Ammapatti, Rookkuminji, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu 626203. By creating an account, taking a test or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Thervu.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
2. What Thervu is
Thervu is an exam-practice service for Tamil Nadu government exams and other competitive exams. It offers timed mock tests in Tamil and English, a question bank organised by subject and topic, results analysis, a revision queue, weak-area tests, an AI tutor, daily current affairs, favourites, notes and leaderboards, through a web app and an Android app. Features differ between plans.
Thervu is a preparation tool. It is not a coaching institute or a recruitment agency, and it does not guarantee any exam result.
3. Your account
- One account per person. Accounts are personal. Do not create extra accounts to reset free-plan limits, to raise your leaderboard position or to get around a suspension.
- Your phone number is your sign-in. You sign in with a one-time password sent to your number; there is no password. Keep your phone and number secure. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Device limits are part of your plan. Free allows 1 device to be signed in at a time, Pro allows 2 devices and Premium allows 5 devices. Signing in on one more device signs out your oldest session.
- No sharing or resale. Do not sell, rent or share your account with anyone, including study groups and coaching centres.
- Changing your number. You can move your account to a new number from your profile, using an OTP sent to the new number. If you have lost access to your old number, contact support.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, bulk-download, screenshot in bulk or otherwise extract questions, explanations or analysis from Thervu by automated or systematic means.
- Republish, sell, license or distribute our question bank, or use it to build a competing product or coaching material, in any language or format.
- Use bots, scripts, modified apps or intercepted API calls to use the service, change scores or raise leaderboard positions.
- Reverse-engineer or decompile our apps, or probe, scan or test the security of our systems without our written permission.
- Send automated requests to the AI tutor, use it for anything other than exam preparation, or try to extract its instructions.
- Interfere with ads on the free plan, create invalid ad views, or try to get around plan limits and paywalls.
- Submit unlawful, abusive, obscene, defamatory or communally inflammatory content through reports, notes, your name or any other field.
- Impersonate another person, TNPSC, TNUSRB, RRB, any government body, or Thervu.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches this section, without a refund where the breach is serious or repeated.
5. Plans, billing and autopay
Thervu has a free plan and two paid plans: Pro at ₹149 a month or ₹1,499 a year, and Premium at ₹299 a month or ₹3,000 a year. What each plan includes is listed on the pricing page and in the app. Prices are in Indian Rupees, and the amount shown at checkout is the amount charged for each billing period.
- Autopay. Payments are collected by our payment gateways: PhonePe for purchases on our website and Razorpay for purchases in the Android app. Paid plans are recurring subscriptions: when you subscribe, you authorise an autopay mandate (such as UPI AutoPay, a card standing instruction or an e-mandate) to charge your chosen payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- Renewal. Your plan renews automatically for the same period at the price then in effect. You are notified at least 24 hours before each recurring debit, as RBI rules require.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time by emailing support@thervu.in, or by cancelling the mandate in the PhonePe app, your UPI app, your card settings or with your bank. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling is not a refund — see the refund and cancellation policy.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, the payment gateway may retry it. If it keeps failing, the subscription stops and your account returns to the free plan at the end of the paid period.
- Coupons. A coupon code gives the discount shown at checkout, for the first billing period or for every renewal as stated with the coupon. Each coupon can be used once per account, can expire or run out, and has no cash value.
- Price changes. We may change prices. We will tell existing subscribers at least 14 days before a new price applies to their renewal, and you can cancel before it does.
- Referral rewards. Rewards for inviting friends are given on the terms shown in the app at the time. We may change or end the referral programme, and we may withhold rewards earned through fake or duplicate accounts.
6. The free plan and advertising
The free plan is supported by ads: Google AdMob in the Android app and Google AdSense on the web. On the free plan, hints on the results screen are unlocked by watching an ad. Paid plans are ad-free. Blocking, faking or automating ad views to unlock features is a breach of section 4.
7. The AI tutor
- The AI tutor answers questions about the topics you pick from your exam’s syllabus. Its replies are generated by a third-party AI model and can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Check anything important against official notifications and standard textbooks.
- How many messages you can send depends on your plan: 25 messages a day on Free, 100 messages a day on Pro, and no fixed daily limit on Premium. Every account is also subject to a fair-use ceiling to prevent abuse.
- Your messages are processed as described in our privacy policy. Do not share personal details in the chat.
8. Our content and exam bodies
- We are not affiliated with any exam body. Thervu is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to TNPSC, TNUSRB, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB), the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Government of India or any other government body. Exam names are used only to describe what our practice material covers.
- Our questions are practice material. Questions, options, explanations and analysis are prepared by us, with the help of AI tools, for practice. They are not official question papers, not leaked papers and not a prediction of what will be asked.
- Accuracy. We check questions in both languages, but errors happen — in facts, in translations and in answer keys. Verify against the official syllabus, notifications and standard textbooks. When you spot a mistake, use the report button on the question; reports go to a review queue.
- Ownership. All content, software, design and branding on Thervu belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for your own exam preparation, and nothing more.
- Your content. You keep ownership of what you submit, such as reports, notes and your name. You give us a licence to store, display and use it to run and improve the service.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Thervu available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages and network problems can interrupt access. We may add, change or remove features, and change or retire question sets, at any time. If we discontinue a paid plan entirely, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
10. Disclaimer
Thervu is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content. We do not warrant that using Thervu will improve your score or lead to selection in any exam.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of opportunity, loss of a chance at selection, loss of data or exam-day outcomes. Our total liability for any claim relating to Thervu is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Thervu and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if your use puts the service or other users at risk. Where a breach is not serious, we will try to warn you first. When your account is closed, the licence in section 8 ends; sections 8, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Virudhunagar have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Before starting formal proceedings, please write to us at support@thervu.in or contact our Grievance Officer (details in the privacy policy). Most problems are quicker to fix that way.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version, and we will tell you about material changes in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Thervu after that, you accept the updated terms.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms: support@thervu.in, or see the contact page.
